All Ted & Grace Bachhuber Memorial Library items that are overdue are charged at the rate of $.10 per day per item, except Videos, DVDs, and Games (PS3, XBOX 360, Wii) which are charged $1.00 per day, per item. Fines may vary on items owned by other libraries, especially on videos, games, and DVDs.
If library items are not returned one (1) month after the date due, the material will be considered lost and the borrower will be assessed the replacement cost of the item plus a $5.00 processing fee.
The first overdue notice is sent out seven (7) days from the due date and the final overdue notice is sent out twenty-eight (28) days after the due date. If the material is not returned at this time, the director mails the borrower a Police Letter, Stating the items overdue, the amount of replacement cost and notice that this information will be given to the Mayville Police Department for further investigation.
Patrons owing fines in excess of $1.00, or charges for lost or damaged items, will not be allowed to borrow materials or have access to the internet.
The Maximum fine on library material is as follows:
- Fiction/Non-Fiction Books: $10.00
- Magazines: $5.00
- Paperbacks: $5.00
- All DVDs, CDs, Games (PS3, XBOX 360, Wii): $10.00
