The Friends of Mayville Public Library are sponsoring a Chalk Art contest on June 20th from 6:00-8:15. There will be two winning categories: artists aged 13 and older and artists aged 12 and under. A winner from each group will win a $25 Amazon gift card. Come down to Foster Park, listen to the Music in the Park and chalk up some art!
Join us for our 7th annual free event, 2019 Family Fun @ Horicon Marsh. On Saturday, June 29th from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., all are invited to spend the day at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center, located between the towns of Horicon and Mayville on Highway 28. Also known as Library Day at the Marsh, local libraries join forces with the Wisconsin DNR to bring you a day filled with nature, hands-on learning and experiences, history of the Horicon Marsh, crafts, food, and fun. So much to see and do, this event is enjoyed by all ages!
New this year, there will be a special story time at 11 a.m. with Alaska the READ Therapy Dog. Event guests will have the opportunity to meet Alaska at the end of story time. Many other activities will continue throughout the event, including hands-on archery, complimentary access to the Horicon Marsh Explorium, wildlife walks, dip netting, a marsh scavenger hunt and challenge, face painting, photo booth, new crafts, a chance to win prizes, and more. Families are welcome to pack a picnic and have lunch at the marsh. Hot dogs, chips, baked goods and water will be available for purchase from 11am-1pm, hosted by the Friends of the Horicon Marsh.
This free family friendly event will be held rain or shine and includes both indoor and outdoor activities. There is ample parking available. The center will remain open until 5 p.m. with access to restrooms and a drinking fountain available until 7 p.m. The State Wildlife Area is open during daylight hours.
Family Fun @ Horicon Marsh is made possible by the collaborative effort of the Monarch Library System; public libraries of Dodge, Ozaukee, Sheboygan and Washington Counties; Wisconsin DNR and Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center.
Mayville Public Library has now added the ability to download eaudiobooks through RBdigital, an online service for downloading digital media for FREE using your Mayville library card. Prior to adding eaudiobooks, library patrons could and still can download emagazines from RBdigital. With this service, patrons enjoy free access to audiobooks and emagazines at home, in the library, or on the go. RBdigital is compatible with all popular listening devices, and mobile apps are available for IOS, Android, and Kindle Fire devices.
To create a RBdigital account
- Go to : https://monarchwi.rbdigital.com/
- Click on Register
- Enter a username, password (must be at least 7 characters and include letters and numbers) library card number, first name, last name, email, zip code, and library (select Mayville Public Library) from the list.
- Click on Register. You will see a page showing where you can get help, FAQS, and RB digital apps that you can download for your specific device.
The June adult book club discussion will be on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 6:30 pm. The book club selection is “Not a Sound” by Heather Gudenkauf. Stop in at the library and get your card! It’s FREE! Bring in a photo id and something with your name and current address printed on it. If your photo id has your current address on it that will work. Otherwise we need to see the photo id (Driver’s License, State ID, etc) and something else with your name and current address on it (bill, lease, bank statement, etc). It’s easy! Your child can get a library card too as long as they are age 6 or have completed kindergarten. We will need a registration card filled out for each person getting a library card.
